Position Title: Technical Director (Assistant Vice President)

 

Location: Dublin

 

Job Information (incl. essential functions):

Reporting to the SVP Technical, the Technical Director (AVP) will manage the technical aspects of commercial aircraft assets predominantly in the EMEA and Americas regions. The successful candidate will support Marketing on all technical matters, including LOI and lease document negotiation along with also covering aircraft transitions and other technical matters while the aircraft is on lease.

 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Support Marketing on all technical matters, including LOI and lease document negotiation of roll off and new placement aircraft.
  • Negotiate maintenance reserve rates, delivery/return conditions, and other maintenance requirements with lessees as part of a lease negotiation team.
  • Management of aircraft transitions including budget development, project management, and resource coordination to achieve an on time delivery within budget.
  • Negotiate GTAs with various service providers including MROs, Part 21 Design companies, CAMOs,
  • Technical Consultants, ferry flight companies and Borescope companies.
  • Manage technical relationship with airlines including processing of MR Claims, Mid Term Audits and modification requests.
  • Ensuring that technical data for aircraft in the region is kept up to date.
  • Stay abreast of New Technologies, Airworthiness and Regulatory changes.
  • Protect asset values by promoting best practise in meeting or exceeding industry standards.

 

Role Requirements:

  • Third level degree in Aircraft Maintenance Management/Engineering or similar relevant qualification or significant experience in a comparable role.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Technical Department of an aircraft leasing company, airline, MRO or technical advisory firm with particular emphasis on aircraft transition project management and experienced in LOI and lease negotiation.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a detailed understanding of aircraft lease transactions and aircraft residual risk management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to blend with a small team and to operate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Fully computer literate, in particular, with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook and Word.
  • Able to travel internationally often at short notice.
